Frequently asked questions...
Yes. It is our pleasure to provide ongoing family health care for children and adults. There is value in building a rapport with a GP or GPs at one practice, as this allows continuous care and insight into the individual’s medical history. It is also helpful for parents or caregivers to see a familiar face during stressful moments when their child requires medical care.
Yes. We are registered to administer prescribed vaccines to our community. For children, you may contact our office to pre-book any of the scheduled immunizations, as well as elective vaccines.
At Family Health Clinic’s we are comfortable to see children from new-born age onwards. We are able to administer prescribed vaccines through the immunization program in our clinic as well as treat children from 0 through to adolescent and early adulthood for all general medical issues. When needed, we will refer the child to a suitable specialist.
We recommend that for infants under 6 weeks old, if there are any severe breathing difficulties or other serious concerns, you attend the nearest emergency hospital.
Yes, indeed. Children’s general medicine is a major part of Family Health Clinic’s day-to-day practice. Our GPs are not only qualified to treat children, they are also gentle, calm and friendly.
Children’s bodies are often susceptible to many ‘first times’. First viruses, first injuries, first infections, skin problems and more. As a family GP, our children’s services are vast. We are the first point of contact for medical issues or concerns and are experienced in diagnosis, treatment and referrals if needed. Ensuring that the child’s caregiver is clear about the plan at the end of the consultation is our aim.
